SINA & especially Etienne have been been a gamechanger for our organization! Their guidance has been paramount to our growth and we cannot thank them enough. In my 10 years of experience in the entrepreneurial space, I believe SINA is one of the best-prepared organizations to help social entrepreneurs get their business off the ground.

Etienne Salborn of Social Innovation Academy acted as my mentor on my project for the 2021 WISE Fellowship Program. During implementation of my project, I realized that the staff members involved in execution seemed stuck in the status quo making the evolution of change difficult. I expressed my concern to him and he asked a series of questions that led me to realize that the problem I was dealing with was one of culture (the values, expectations, and practices that guide and inform the actions of team members). He also shared a few resources with me, one of which I have found particularly enlightening. His guidance and coaching led to an extensive process of culture change within the organization which involved convening leaders to assess the current culture and get to the root cause of issues faced. The organization has since embarked on a parallel project to change mindset, attitudes and behaviors based on values and believe this will be a game changer as the organization looks to grow and expand.

“The process was excellent as it develops somebody’s capacity through the acquired knowledge. The facilitation team was excellent. They have what it takes to empower their clients with knowledge and skills in all fields.”

— George Baliraine (WatSan Programme Manager at the Uganda Red Cross Society)
